Sri Lanka Day 2 (Welisara): First Day at Pyramid Wilmar
Started the day with breakfast at the hotel. The omelette was yumzzz.

Then, we took the staff bus to work! I was so excited to see the office that I will be working at for the next 6 weeks or so. Everyone was very friendly! They greeted us and welcomed us. (: Reached the office and we were quite lost because there was no one attending to us because our supervisor, Mr Thanveer wasn't around.
We were served Sri Lanka Milk Tea by Mohan (I hope I got his name correctly!) It was really sweet so I think most of us aren't really used to it. Just ask for less milk and sugar if you were to order one outside.

As for us, we asked for black tea instead. Honestly, I am not a very tea person because I don't like caffeine but Sri Lanka tea is really not bad!
Went to Mr Thanveer's office and he told us about the history of Pyramid Wilmar, Pyramid Lanka and Pyramid Wilmar Oils and Fats. Didn't really catch anything at first because everything was just so foreign. We also read through some BOI Agreements. BOI = Board of Investment in Sri Lanka and I felt that I was studying some Company Law in Sri Lanka. Happy to gain some new knowledge of a different jurisdiction along the way.
Lunch was deep fried chicken with fried rice. The rice portion here in Sri Lanka is HUGE.

Continued to generate our Day 1 Report and that was the end of Day 1 of internship. Took the staff bus out and it dropped us off at K-Zone, which is the 2nd largest mall in Negombo. Didn't manage to take a photo so I got this from the net instead. It is quite empty actually. It will be a good place to buy clothes but we are looking more for day-to-day necessities which Thilakma has more.

Went back to Misuki Plaza Hotel for dinner and this was what we had

Boiled vegetables, tuna and potato salad and deviled fish. In Sri Lanka, boiled vegetables are not exactly what we thought they would be. The tuna and potato salad turned out to be fries. HAHAH not really complaining but we just found it funny that they differed so much from what we imagined them to be.
Slept and knocked out after bathing.
