Sri Lanka Day 70 (Badulla): 10h Train Ride Through the Hill Countries
Here we go!
Totally recommend tourist to experience a train ride in the observation saloon! You have to book really early and not all routes have observation saloons.
The special thing about this is that the first row of seats will be able to enjoy a panoramic view because of the glass.
And of course, we chose the morning train to enjoy the scenery (even though it is 10h and will take up the whole day). We also sat throughout from Colombo all the way to final stop at Badulla. You would realise that by the time the train reached Ella, it would be completely dark and you wouldn’t be able to see a thing. Badulla is usually not a tourist spot because there is nothing much to do there except for a waterfall, which I have to admit that it is simply spectacular.
Had rice and curry for both breakfast and dinner.
