Sri Lanka Day 73 (Arugam Bay & Nuwara Eliya): Surfers' Paradise to Little England

Arugam Bay is the Surfers' Paradise, being the top 3 surfiing spots. However, even if you are not interested in surfing like me (because I can't swim), it is also a beautiful place to explore. Any photos taken here look great! We also managed to catch the sunrise here. You will feel totally relaxed walking along the beach because of the resort feel of the entire area. Arugam Bay is also one of my favourites here in Sri Lanka and I am glad we made the choice to come here because though it was quite out of way.

Breakfast: Bananas, Coconut, Chocolate Rotti @ Sithara Restaurant

It was really nice at first but I got sick of it after a while because it was too sweet. Nonetheless, it is always good to try food unique to the country of visit.

Back to Lazy Bay to check out. See, even the hostel is so nice!! And it is only $14 per pax!!

Backed to Pottuvil and to get to Nuwara Eliya, we had to change so many buses.

Arugam Bay > Pottuvil > Monaragala > Wellawaya > Bandaruwela > Welimanda > Nuwara Eliya

OMG that is 6 buses in total and from 10am, it took us 10h approximately to reach Nuwara Eliya at around 8.30pm. It was crazy!!

We stopped by Wellawaya for lunch and skipped dinner because it was difficult to find food when our hostel was really inaccessible.

The host of Sunshine Bungalow waited for us and we took a hot bath and chit-caht with the other guest, from Malaysia, to see if she was interested in Horton Plains so that we could share the tuktuk costs. She wasn't really interested because she had other plans already. OMG Nuwara Eliya was so cold!!! I literally hid under the blanket with 3 layers of clothes. i am sure it wasn't 17 degrees celcius!
