Sri Lanka Day 6 (Welisara): TGIF

Breakfast was finally non-toasted bread! I ate all 4 slices of them plus the chicken omelette!

Finally accomodation is settled for Kandy. Thankful for Haritha, really!

Visited the boilers today and finally I am back to the right state and managed to understand the whole process. Wore the protective mask on top of the safety shoes and helmet and I looked like a robber! HAHAHHA.

Lunch was chicken submarine. It is HUGE but I still managed to finish eating it because I didn't want to waste food when there are people who skipped lunch in the office. We finally ried the fat and short looking bananas too! It was really sweet and nice!!! Gonna get some at the supermarket next time!

Finished the boilers report and had some free time to read past year's tank farm report and past month's boilers' savings record and all! I finally read the story 'The Paper Menagerie"by Ken Liu shared by Tivona during voice production class. A beautiful and sad story about Mother love.

Had Awula for snack. It is like icing sugar compressed into cubes with some ginger bits and peanuts. It melts in your mouth and doesn't look as hard as it seems to be.

Went back to hotel and called home. Talked to Dad and Mum who have been worrying about me because of my recurring gastric problems for the past 2 days. I feel myself falling sick which sucks. My throat is dry and my nose is itchy.

Dinner was chicken noodles (bee hoon). The flies kept going to the ketchup.

Talked to Janet about how fortunate we are. The living conditions here is really quite bad with old wooden houses, most people are using old phones, etc while in Singapore, people can drink starbucks coffee every morning. I'm pretty sure that that cup of coffee can feed 5 workers here. For me, I feel so pampered here, getting free lunch from the company, which costs $4 each on average, probably enough to feed 2 other people. i get to stay in a hotel which is considered to be super expensive and atas here. I drink bottled water everyday. They are giving us almost everything when they don't even have them. Appreciate and be grateful of what you have because people at the other side of the world aren't not as fortunate as you are.
