See the milk rice at the back! Our colleagues told us they make these for festivals.

Travelled to Peradeniya with a Tuktuk. We got our train tickets on the way there, just in case later all the first class tickets are sold out and we have to experience the rushing onto the train and squeezing with people all over again.

Reached Peradeniya and honestly, even though I am not a very “plant” kind of person, I really thought it was quite beautiful and well-maintained. Let me just show just pictures because I believe that a picture can speak a thousand words.

Lots of monkeys

Goat tied to the tree. Don't think it supposed to belong here though.

Looked at my 'not-impressed" face with the flowers because Cameron Highlands flowers are definitely better!

There were many many couples taking their wedding shoot there so I believe that that place is really beautiful in the eyes of the locals as well.

After that we took a bus and a Tuktuk to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and the Tuktuk driver wanted to scam us and bring us to the other orphanage. I heard from Lynette that it was very common and lucky Lynette read up on this before and we did not get scammed. So what the driver would say is that for Pinnawala, you only can see the elephants and take photos for LKR 2,500 but in this other place, by paying LKR 2,000, you get to bathe the elephants, ride on them and feed them. Sounds attractive yeah? But the elephants there are very badly treated.

The price that they charged for tourists is really crazy. $25 to just see elephants. Took many many photos to make my money worth.

Then Tuktuk and bus back to Kandy to catch the 3.30pm train back to Colombo. Look at my first class train cabin with television and aircon.

Back to Misuki Plaza safely! Dinner time (:

$2.20 lime juice. Wouldn't have ordered that if I had to pay.

Chicken Chopsuey and fried rice.

Experienced my first black-out here. It was quite a horrible day missing our bus stop, cutting myself with a razor and also experiencing a black-out while I was bathing half way.
