Sri Lanka Day 15 (Rumassala & Unawatuna): Awesome scenery and awesome cakes but horrible bus rid

Rise and shine and lucky nothing happened! Thank god for that. Woke up with a blocked nose though because of the fan, just like how the first time I stayed in hall and there was no aircon and I used fan throughout the night.

Breakfast which costs $3. The lighting is really bad because there was no lights in the restaurant at all. Should have sat at the courtyard instead.

Decided to try the technique of bargaining and walking away. On the way out of Galle Fort, a Tuktuk driver offered us LKR 500 to go to Rumassala Japanese Peace Pagoda and we walked away, wanting only LKR 300. Then another Tuktuk driver came and negotiated LKR 350. Walking away works beause the Tuktuk drivers will always quote you high. HAHAHAH. Lucky we took the Tuktuk because the Pagoda was high up which means if we were to take a bus to the main road, we had to trek up. NO, not with my heavy bags.

The Tuktuk driver also offered LKR 350 to the Jungle Beach and then to Unawatuna because it would be difficult to find transport out of that place. So really! Best Tuktuk driver already!

The view at Rumassala was really good. This was the first time I see sea of 2 colours- blue and green.

These were taken at the Japanese Peace Pagoda.

Tuktuk to Jungle Beach and as the name suggests, you will have to go through a piece of "jungle" to get to the beach. it's at the bottom of the Peace Pagoda.

At Unawatuna, we walked along the beach with umbrellas because of the really hot sun. Confirmed being judged by the foreigners there. Unawatuna Beach is definitely more famous among tourists because of the number of restuarants along the beach as well.

We went up to the Saama Stupa and there there was this rock area with nobody and it was good to just chill around there because we had the time to.

Saama Stupa is at the end of the beach.

After that we went to find the cafés but got lost along the Yadehimulla Road. On google map, we were supposed to be there already but nothing looked like it. Decided to just pay the Tuktuk driver LKR100 to find the place because I was just damn damn tired and LKR100 was nothing to me at that moment.

Finally reached Le café Francais Bakery & Boutique and cheap cakes were my lunch.

Then Tuktuk back to Galle Railway Station. It was around 1.00pm and the train was at 3.30pm. So we decided to opt for the bus in the end. There were other trains that go back to Colombo but no first class. We have learnt that yup, only first class for us. Switched from buses to buses because we couldn’t decide on which was better. Bus EX01 reaches Colombo in 1.5h by the highway but it stops at a different station and we will take 1.5h more to reach Colombo Fort with usual public bus, which means there is a possibility of not getting a seat. Bus EX02 goes to Colombo Fort straight but takes 3.5h. After much deliberation, we took EX02. Cheaper and more comfortable I guess! Smart choice.

Reached Colombo Fort and on bus 187 to go back to Negombo. AND that was the worst bus ride ever because I was seated outside and the bus was so full and squeezy. My shoulders were at the butt area of those who were standing. I think my shoulders have brushed so many butts and just the thought of it made me so gross.

Back to Misuki with my black face. Dinner.

Maybe the only best part today was exfoliating my skin which has been damaged so badly during the trip.
