Sri Lanka Day 21 (Colombo): Living the Taitai Life
Morning! So it was a very chill day at Colombo with no plan! Slowly roaming around the streets.
First, we alighted at the floating market to sit down and eat our packed breakfast. I also ordered a LKR100 orange juice which tasted like water.
Walked around the floating market...
Roamed around the streets. The streets are so empty today, we have no idea why? Everyone went to Anuradhapura?
Found a cafe with damn shiok aircon to chill. The weather in Colombo is really killing me...

Finally to Galle Face Green, which is probably a must go in Colombo.

Continued walking in the hot sun and finally went to a decent shopping mall and found dialog shop. $7 for 5gb of data for me! But the annoying thing is that the previous plan which has not expired cannot be used anymore. I don't know how I can us up 5gb data in 2.5 weeks. But anyway yay to reload and I felt alive again!
The hot sun was really unforgiving so we went to Cinnamon Grand, 5-star hotel for some chilling. The food was surprisingly cheap and good!
Stayed there for aircon, good piano playing, clean toilet and nice food. I wished we could stay there. Please Wilmar!!
kidding! The hotel is too expensive. I really wished I could stay there to try all the cakes though. They all look too good.
Back in the hot sun again. Now to the Seema Malakaya Temple
I would say that the temple was quite beautiful because it was build on the waters but on a closer look, you will realise how dirty the water was and the statues were quite poorly maintained
There was this small island in the middle of the lake so we crosses over. SO scared that would end up dropping my things.
Continued walking to Kovil Temple. Sadly it was closed and a local said it would only open at 5pm.
TOO HOT so we decided to do some shoppping. Heard that House of Fashions was a good place because they were cheap ZARA clothes. We Tuktuk there in the end because we had no idea what bus to take and this temple was quite ulu.
Arm... The ZARA was too cheap to be real and seeing all the fakes sold, I highly doubt the ZARA is real. I still did some shopping in the end! Like a taitai, I couldn't reach the items and the staff just helped me while I pointed.
Wanted to go back to Orgo to chill. We Tuktuk there and omg got scammed! So the Tuktuk driver wasn't really sure where we wanted to go but after showing the map he said ok. Offered LKR 150 and we thought wow, so cheap ok let's go. In the end, he brought us to another place. And got lost again. We used our GPS to direct him and at the end of the ride, he charged us LKR 500. I was totally annoyed and started arguing. I wondered where I got the guts to do that especially when the streets were empty and we are just two girls. After arguing for damn long, settled on LKR300.
Went to Orgo and it ws closed. Unlucky day so we decided to just go to Kingsbury, another 5 star hotel to chill.
My ribbon cake and it was nothing compared to Cinnamon Grand cakes. Even overheard a customer complaining about the red velvet cake with no creamcheese frosting. But the hotel was really beautiful.
Catching a sunset at Kingsbury but sadly it was too cloudy.
Before taking a bus to the floating market to meet up with Haritha, we went to the fort area. Snap a photo and zao.

Back to Misuki and bus ride was fine for once. So tiredd.
