Sri Lanka Day 50 (Jaffna & Nainativu): Getting into an Accident

Woke up feeling much better! Thank god!

Met with an accident at the bus station and after recovering from the shock and analysing exactly why I did not see the motorcycle, I realised that the motorcycle was in the opposite direction of the traffic. Lucky it braked in time. Only got hit at my abdomen area and my left arm. When I went back to check I only got slight scratches and a bruise on my arm. Thankful.

Took the bus to Kurikattauwan Jetty and then took the boat to Nainathivu. Jaffna is a place where you get priority as a foreigner. We managed to get to the front of the long queue at the jetty. The boat we took when going there was the small one and I felt like I was at the storage area of the boat with still air. The life jacket was really useless because there was no way to tighten it so thank god I am still alive now blogging.

Nagadipa Purana Vihara. It is among the country's sixteen or seventeen holiest Buddhist shrines. According to contemporary history, the Gautama Buddha visited the site after five years of attaining Enlightenment to settle the dispute between two warringNaga kings, Chulodara and Mahodara.

The boat back was much bigger and as tourists we got ur VIP seats beside the driver while the rest had to stand or squeeze or both.
