Sri Lanka Day 56 (Colombo): Bakery Class & Going Around on Landrovers
I was so lazy to get up HAHAHA.
Morning breakfast! I thought it was the fillet yesterday but it wasn’t…
Got to the office and I was surprised that there were quite a few people still working on a Saturday. The first part of the lesson was just writing out the recipe. Did very simple tasks like sifting the flour, mixing the flour and moulding the tea buns but it was still quite fun because the people were very fun to be with! They are the tNorthern team we met for sales meeting the day before! They even lent us their aprons because we didn't have one.
Lunch: Fried rice + Chinese dishes
Then they learnt about tenderizers and structure builders and so on. I think the people here are generally very family-oriented. They always like to talk about the family and all of them were enthusiastically packing back the cakes for their families.
We got 3 pieces in the end: raisin cake, chocolate cake and ribbon cake. I was bloated at that time and couldn’t eat. I kinda regret now because the cakes made by the specialists are really damn damn good. We gave 1 piece to Kapila and other two to the hotel.
Kapila is a tour guide who brings people around Colombo and people get to ride on land rovers. Lynette knew him before this because she went out to Ursela that time. So hehe I got to ride on it for free too, even though it was a short while because I was too lazy to move and the sun was damn hot, I really wanted to try it. Landrovers allow you to move around so freely, but my legs stiften a lot because I am not used to it.
