Sri Lanka Day 75 (Nuwara Eliya): Tea Plantations + Animal Farm + Strawberry Farm

Started the day with a hike to Single Tree Top. There is hardly any tourist who will hike up there to see Nuwara Eliya Town and I understand why so after climbing it myself. The proper path up is difficult to find and if you ask the locals, they will lead you to the path they take through the tea plantations. We got lost pretty a lot of times through the estates because everyone was just giving different directions. I did take photos of the pretty housings though.
The hike should be one of the worse I ever did in Sri Lanka and got myself dirty and muddy. There is no where to rest at the peak and it just seem to be a place where no one actually comes. Difficult to capture the view because it was blocked by trees. I wouldn't simply conclude and recommend someone to not go because the view of the town was still pretty decent. Whether that view is worthwhile to go through the plantations, that is something that you have to make the call yourself.

Golf Club
Post Office. Went back to the post office and I decided to send a postcard back home and wrote it with horrible chinese.
Off to Mackwoods Labookellie Tea Centre and WOW! I really like the Hollywood inspired logo amongst the tea plantations and the place is really nice with nice buildings, water source and well-maintained plantations. Mackwoods offer free guided tour but it I didn’t opt for it because I feel bad if I ended up not giving tips due to my super tight budget.
Yesterday when we wanted to go to Ambewela Farms, we were told by the locals that it was closed for visiting. Ambewela is actually located along the road to Pattipola so it would have been a good stopover after visiting Horton Plains. Therefore, we decided to check it out today.
What is really confusing is that Ambewela Farms consist of 2 farms, namely Ambewela Farm and New Zealand Farm. After verifying with so many locals, we found out that Ambewela Farm is closed but New Zealand Farm is not. Ambewela Farm is along the main road and easily accessible while New Zealand Farm is a little further away from Nuwara Eliya Town as compared to Ambewela Farm. Alight at the main road and you have to take a tuktuk in because it is around 3km walk to the entrance. We got a tuktuk at LKR600 round trip.
The inside was well-maintained and there are many variety of cows to see but I really have bad experience with the locals here trying to snap a selfie with us. WTH.

Lunch + Dinner: Fried chicken. IT WAS SUPER GOOD!!
Next, we visited the strawberry restaurant which serves strawberry pizza, strawberry milkshake, strawberry pancake and honestly, I wanted to try strawberry pizza but unfortunately, I couldn’t finish one by myself so I decided to opt for the pancake instead. People recommend the pancake with cream and yup, it was really delicious with the light cream which goes well which the strawberry.
The shopkeeper even opened the garden for us to enter and gave us an introduction of the cultivation of strawberry here.
